Aspire covers the whole path from a drawing to a running machine for anyone doing routed, carved or engraved work. Signmakers, furniture shops, guitar builders, mould makers and anyone with a router table use it because the design tools and the toolpath tools are the same application, so a change to the artwork updates the cutting without a round trip through another program.
The two dimensional side is a competent vector editor. Drawing tools, node editing, boolean operations, offsets, fillets, arrays, text on a curve with full font access, and a tracing pass that converts a bitmap into clean vectors with adjustable thresholds. Nesting arranges parts across a sheet to minimise waste, and job setup handles multi sided work by managing the flip and the alignment between sides.
Relief modelling is what separates this from a plain two dimensional package. Vectors become three dimensional shapes through a set of modelling operations that raise, dome, ramp and taper regions, and those shapes are combined by adding, subtracting, merging or limiting one against another. A sculpting brush set smooths and reshapes the relief by hand, and a bitmap can be turned directly into a relief for lithophanes and textured panels. Imported three dimensional models can be merged into a relief and cut alongside modelled geometry.
Toolpath output covers the strategies the work needs. Profiling with tabs and lead in and out, pocketing with multiple clearance tools, drilling, v carving and inlay with automatic depth from letter width, prism carving, fluting, texturing, and roughing and finishing passes for relief work with selectable raster angle or offset patterns. Everything is previewed against a solid material simulation with the real tool shape so you see the finished surface before the machine cuts, and post processors cover the common controllers with an editable format for the rest.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

Relief resolution is set at job creation and drives both quality and memory use. Setting it too high on a large panel will exhaust memory during calculation.
Always run the simulation before cutting. A tool defined wrongly in the database produces toolpaths that look correct on screen and gouge the material.
