What the four forms on this site collect, what is not collected at all, and why there is no third party on any page.
The short version
This site collects what you type into its forms and nothing else that identifies you. There is no advertising network attached to it, no tracking script, no analytics product and no third party embedded anywhere on any page. Nothing you do here is shared with anyone.
What the forms collect
There are four forms on this site and each one stores exactly what its fields ask for.
- The contact form stores your name, reply address, subject, any related title and your message
- The requests form stores the software name, version, developer, category, platform, your reason and a reply address if you choose to leave one
- The report form stores which entry, which mirror, what went wrong, your description and a reply address if you leave one
- The DMCA form stores your name, the rights holder, your reply address, the work, the entry address and your statement
Submissions are kept so the desk can work through the queue and answer you. A reply address is optional on two of the four forms, and if you leave it blank the submission is still read.
What is not collected
No account exists, so no profile exists. There is no advertising identifier, no cross site tracking, no fingerprinting and no third party cookie, because there is no third party on any page. Nothing you search for is stored against you, and the search box does not write to your address bar or your browser history.
The search box
The search box in the header sends what you type to this site's own search endpoint and gets a list of matching entries back. That request goes nowhere else and is not logged against you. It does not change the page address, which means your history stays as it was.
Server records
Like any web server, this one records requests as they arrive so that faults can be found and dead links spotted. Those records are operational, are not joined to anything you typed into a form, and are not used to build a picture of anyone.
Sharing
Nothing collected here is sold, rented, traded or handed to anyone. There is no partner, no data processor and no analytics vendor with access to any of it.
Removal
If you have sent something through a form and want it deleted, write in through the contact form and say so. Include enough detail to find it. Removal is straightforward because there is very little to remove.
Changes
If this policy changes, the change appears here. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
No third parties
Every stylesheet, script and font on this site is served from this site. Nothing on any page reaches out to anywhere else, which is the simplest privacy guarantee there is.
