About this release

SketchUp is the fastest way to get an idea into three dimensions. The modelling metaphor is direct: draw a face, push or pull it into a volume, keep going. There is no history tree to manage and no parametric relationships to set up first, which means you can model at the speed you think, and that is why it dominates early design, interior work, joinery, landscape and anything where you need something in front of a client tomorrow.

Under the simplicity there is a real modeller. Groups and components with instancing so a change to one propagates everywhere. Tags for visibility control. Sections that cut live through the model. Scenes that store camera, style, tag state and section for presentation and for documentation. Solid tools for boolean operations. Accurate dimensioning throughout, with real units, so what you model is what gets built.

LayOut is included with Pro and is the reason the Pro version exists. It takes live views of your model onto paper, at scale, with dimensions, annotation, hatching, title blocks and multiple pages. When the model changes the drawings update. That turns SketchUp from a sketching tool into something you can issue drawings from.

The extension ecosystem is the other half of the story. There are extensions for almost everything: parametric shapes, terrain, curve tools, rendering engines, quantity takeoff, structural framing, cabinet generation and clean up. This build has the extension manager working normally so anything you install registers as expected.

Installation

Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

1. Extract the archive to a local folder.
2. Disconnect from the network.
3. Run the installer as administrator.
4. Close the installer when it completes without launching the application.
5. Apply the licensing files from the included folder.
6. Start SketchUp, choose a template with the right units, and add the extensions you need afterwards.
