Adobe Photoshop 2026
The full desktop build of Photoshop with the generative model stack left switched on, including Flux Kontext Pro and Gemini Nano Banana routing.
A photo editor built around large single click corrections, with relighting, sky replacement and portrait tools that do in one slider what would otherwise be a layer stack.
Luminar Neo takes the opposite approach to the traditional editor. Instead of giving you a hundred primitive controls and expecting you to build the correction yourself, it gives you a smaller set of large tools that each perform an entire operation, and it works out the masking on its own. Relight a scene, replace a sky, remove power lines, reshape the light on a face, and each of those is one panel rather than an evening of layer work.
The relighting tool is the clearest example of what the engine actually does. It builds a depth estimate of the scene, then lets you brighten the foreground and the background independently, which is a correction that used to require a hand painted luminosity mask and a lot of patience. Sky replacement works the same way: it finds the horizon including gaps through foliage, replaces the sky, then relights the rest of the frame to match the new one so the composite does not announce itself.
The portrait section covers skin, eyes, lips, face structure and body shaping, all with automatic detection and per slider strength. The landscape tools handle atmospheric haze, golden hour warmth, foliage enhancement and water. Object removal takes power lines, dust spots, tourists and sensor marks out with a brush and fills the gap from surrounding content.
Underneath the big tools there is a full conventional editor: raw development with profiles and lens correction, curves, colour grading with split toning, HSL, dodge and burn, layers with blend modes and masks, and local adjustments with brush, radial and linear masking. It runs standalone and as a plugin inside the common hosts, and the catalogue side keeps a non destructive edit history per image with presets that can be applied across a batch.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.
