Illustrator is where logos, packaging, wordmarks, icon sets, technical illustration and most print artwork get made. It draws with bezier paths rather than pixels, which means everything scales to any size without losing an edge, and it is the format almost every printer, sign maker and fabricator expects to receive.
The drawing tools in this build are deep and, importantly, consistent. The pen tool, curvature tool and pencil all feed the same path model. Live shapes let a rectangle stay a rectangle with editable corner radii until you decide otherwise. The Shape Builder tool remains the fastest way to cut and merge overlapping geometry by dragging across it. Pathfinder, offset path, compound paths, clipping masks and the width tool cover the rest.
Typography is the other half of the application. Full OpenType support including variable fonts, stylistic sets, ligatures and alternates. Type on a path, area type with proper threading, paragraph and character styles, optical kerning, and the touch type tool for moving individual glyphs without breaking the text object. Text to outlines is one command away when you need to hand off a file with no font dependencies.
The generative vector feature produces real editable paths, grouped and named, rather than a raster image dropped into the document. You describe what you want, pick a style reference from artwork already on the canvas, and get variations that you can pull apart and redraw. It is genuinely useful for filling out an icon family or roughing in a pattern, and it does not lock you out of editing what it made.

If the font cache rebuild hangs on first launch, close the application, clear the cache folder in your user profile and reopen it.
