Adobe Photoshop 2026
The full desktop build of Photoshop with the generative model stack left switched on, including Flux Kontext Pro and Gemini Nano Banana routing.
A full raster editor with unlimited layers, a real raw develop persona, live filters and focus and HDR merging, running fast enough to stay interactive on very large documents.
Affinity Photo is a complete professional raster editor built to be quick. Pan and zoom on a document with a hundred layers stay smooth, brushes have no perceptible lag at very large sizes, and a filter applied to a huge canvas previews live rather than making you wait for a dialog to commit. That responsiveness is the first thing people notice and the reason a lot of them stay.
The application is organised into personas, which are separate workspaces sharing one document. Photo is the main editing space. Develop is a full raw processor with exposure, tone curve, lens correction, noise reduction and detail refinement, and you can return to it later on the same file. Liquify handles push, twirl and pinch warping. Tone Mapping handles local contrast and HDR presentation. Export handles slices and multiple output sizes from one document.
Editing depth is where it competes directly with the established standard. Unlimited layers with full blend modes, blend ranges, layer effects and clipping. Non destructive live filters that sit in the stack and can be reordered or masked at any time. Adjustment layers for every common correction. Proper channel editing, refined selection with edge detection, frequency separation for retouching, and a healing and cloning set that samples across layers.
The specialist merges are included rather than sold separately. Focus stacking combines a bracketed set into one fully sharp frame for macro and product work. HDR merge combines exposure brackets with ghost removal and hands the result to tone mapping in thirty two bit. Panorama stitching handles wide sets with automatic alignment and perspective correction, and there is a batch processor for applying a saved macro across a folder.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.
| Processor | Intel or AMD, 64 bit, with SSE 4.2 |
|---|---|
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB or more for large documents |
| Graphics | 2 GB VRAM with hardware acceleration support |
| Storage | 4 GB free plus room for scratch |
| Display | 1920 by 1080, calibrated for print work |
Turn hardware acceleration off in preferences if the canvas shows tearing on an older graphics chip.
Set the scratch folder to a fast drive. Thirty two bit documents with many layers will use a lot of it.
