About this release

KMS Tools is a collection rather than a single utility. Ratiborus has been maintaining it for years and it has become the standard bundle: one portable launcher that unpacks and presents every tool in the set, so you do not have to hunt down individual builds from a dozen places and work out which ones are current.

The collection covers the whole range of licensing situations across Windows and Office. There are tools for the key management service path, tools for the digital entitlement path, tools that handle the Office Click to Run channel specifically, an installer front end for downloading and deploying Office editions directly, a converter for switching between retail and volume channels, and several utilities for reading, backing up and restoring the current licensing state.

It runs portable. Nothing installs, nothing stays behind, and the whole set lives in one folder you can keep on a stick. The launcher shows every included tool with its version so you can see at a glance what is current, and each tool opens as its own window with its own options.

Because of what these tools do, every antivirus product on the market flags them. That is expected behaviour for this category of utility and is why the archive needs an exclusion set before it will unpack.

Installation

Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

1. Add an exclusion for the folder you intend to extract into before you unpack anything.
2. Extract the archive into that excluded folder.
3. Disable real time protection for the session.
4. Run the launcher as administrator.
5. Pick the tool that matches your situation from the list and read its own window before running anything.
6. Reboot afterwards and confirm the licensing state in system settings.
