About this release

KMSAuto++ is the small, self contained licensing utility that has quietly become the default answer for both Windows and Office. It is one executable in one folder, it installs nothing, and the entire interface fits in a single window with four buttons and a log pane underneath. That restraint is the reason it survived while heavier tools in the same category came and went.

The tool covers two separate paths and lets you pick which one you want rather than guessing on your behalf. The key management route stands up a local service, points the installed product at it, and renews on a schedule through a task it registers for you. The digital entitlement route works differently, writing the state so it persists through a clean reinstall of the same edition on the same board without needing anything to run again afterwards.

Underneath the two big buttons there is a proper toolbox for people who want to see what is actually happening. You can read the current licensing state for every installed product, list installed keys, install or clear a key manually, switch an Office installation between retail and volume channels, back up the current state to a file and restore it later, and inspect the scheduled task the tool created. The log pane prints every command it runs, so nothing happens silently.

As with everything in this category, security products flag it on sight. That is expected and is why the folder needs an exclusion before extraction rather than after, and why the archive will disappear mid unpack if you skip that step.

• Channel switching for Office extended to the newest perpetual build
• Log pane made scrollable and copyable, which it should always have been

Installation

Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

1. Add a folder exclusion in your security software before you extract anything.
2. Extract the archive into that excluded folder.
3. Disable real time protection for the session.
4. Right click the executable and run it as administrator.
5. Choose the path that matches your situation and read the log pane while it works.
6. Reboot and confirm the state in system settings before you re-enable protection.
