WinRAR Professional
The archiver that reads everything and writes RAR and ZIP properly, with recovery records, solid archives and multi volume splitting.
Full system, disk, partition and file backup with restore to different hardware, bundled with a bootable recovery environment for the day the machine will not start.
Backup software gets judged on one day only, and it is the day the drive dies. AOMEI Backupper is built around that: the imaging is straightforward, the restore path is tested, and the bootable recovery environment ships in the same download so you are not trying to build rescue media on a machine that no longer starts.
It covers the four backup shapes that matter. System backup takes the operating system and everything it needs to boot as one unit. Disk backup takes a whole physical drive including hidden and recovery partitions. Partition backup takes a single volume. File backup takes selected folders with filters and works well for the documents you want copied every night without imaging a terabyte to get them.
The scheduling and retention side is where it earns the running cost of the disk space. Full, incremental and differential schemes run on a schedule, with automatic cleanup rules that delete old chains once a set number of versions exist, so a nightly backup does not silently fill a drive over six months. Real time file sync and two way sync run alongside for the folders you want mirrored rather than imaged.
Restore handles the awkward cases properly. Universal restore puts an image back on hardware that is not the machine it came from, injecting the storage and chipset drivers so the system actually boots. Individual files can be pulled out of an image by mounting it as a drive letter without a full restore. Disk clone moves a whole installation to a new drive, with alignment for solid state targets and the option to clone only the used sectors so a large drive fits onto a smaller one. This listing includes the Professional, Technician, Technician Plus and Server editions plus the bootable environment image.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

Test a restore once before you rely on the schedule. An untested backup is a rumour.
Keep at least one image on a drive that is not attached to the machine day to day.
