Adobe Photoshop 2026
The full desktop build of Photoshop with the generative model stack left switched on, including Flux Kontext Pro and Gemini Nano Banana routing.
A drawing and painting application built for pen input, combining raster brushes, live physical media simulation and vector brushes in one document.
Fresco is a drawing application designed around a pen rather than adapted to one. The interface stays out of the way, the tool controls are reachable without a keyboard, and the whole thing is built to be used with one hand on a stylus and the other on the surface. On a pen display or a touch enabled laptop it is a markedly better drawing experience than a general purpose raster editor.
Three brush systems share one canvas. Raster brushes are the familiar pixel brushes, including the complete set of Photoshop brush behaviours and the ability to import brush sets directly. Vector brushes draw resolution independent strokes that stay crisp at any zoom, on the same layer stack as everything else. Live brushes simulate physical media with actual fluid behaviour: watercolour that spreads and blooms into wet paper, and oil that carries pigment on the bristles, mixes on contact and leaves visible impasto.
The live brushes are the reason people install it. Watercolour reacts to how wet the paper already is, so laying a wash over a damp area bleeds the way real paint does, and stopping to let a region dry produces hard edges exactly as it would on paper. Oil paint picks up colour from the canvas as you drag through it, meaning a stroke across two colours blends them rather than painting over them. Neither is a filter applied after the fact, both simulate as you draw.
Underneath the drawing tools is a conventional and capable document model. Layers with masks, clipping, blend modes and groups. Selection tools including a subject detection pass. Transform with warp. Symmetry with adjustable axes and a radial mode. Time lapse recording of the whole session exported as video. Files save in the native format and export to layered Photoshop documents, PNG, JPEG, PDF and vector formats, so a drawing started here finishes anywhere.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.
| Processor | Intel or AMD, 64 bit, quad core recommended |
|---|---|
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB for large canvases with live brushes |
| Graphics | 4 GB VRAM with DirectX 12 support for the live brush simulation |
| Storage | 8 GB free during install |
| Input | A pressure sensitive stylus. The application works without one but loses most of its point |
The live brushes are simulated on the GPU. On integrated graphics they run, but the responsiveness drops enough to change how the tool feels.
Mixing vector and raster layers in one document is fine, but flatten before exporting to formats that only understand one of them.

The vector drawing standard, with the full type engine, live shape tools and the generative vector pass that produces editable paths rather than flat art.
Catalogue driven photo management and raw development for people who shoot in volume and need the whole library in one place on their own disk.
Vector illustration, page layout, photo editing and font management in one suite, with the tracing engine and print production tools that sign and apparel shops run on.
