Firefly is the generative model family that sits behind Generative Fill, Generative Expand, text to image and the text effects panel in Photoshop. In a normal install those features are thin clients: the interface is local, the work happens somewhere else, and the moment the application cannot reach the service the buttons grey out. This support package replaces that arrangement with a local component set, so the panels stay live and the operations complete on your own hardware.
What you get is the model runtime, the weight bundles, the prompt handling layer and the plugin shim that registers the whole thing with Photoshop's generative panels on first launch. Nothing about the host application changes. Generative Fill still lives on the contextual task bar, still takes a selection and a description, still drops variations onto separate layers with masks already cut. The difference is where the compute happens and whether the feature works at all with the network off.
The package covers the full generative feature set rather than one corner of it. Fill and expand for compositing and reframing, text to image for roughing in elements that do not exist in your plate, generative remove for taking out cables and signage, text effects for turning a type layer into a textured object, and the reference image path that lets you steer style from artwork already in the document. Structure and style reference sliders behave the way they do online, and the seed is exposed so you can reproduce a result later.
This is a support layer, not a standalone application. It expects a working Photoshop install of a recent year on the same machine and will refuse to register against anything older. Once installed it is effectively invisible: there is no separate window, no launcher, no tray icon, just the panels inside Photoshop behaving as though the service were reachable.

Generation times scale almost entirely with VRAM. On a 4 GB card the panels work but a large expand can take several minutes.
If the panels appear but stay greyed out, Photoshop was running during install. Close it fully and run the installer again.
