Adobe Premiere Pro 2026
The timeline that most of the industry cuts on, with the text based editing pass, native multiformat handling and the whole audio workflow intact.
The colour correction and film look plugin set that put grading tools in the hands of editors, complete with the skin retouching and grain modules.
Magic Bullet is the reason a generation of editors could make footage look graded without learning a finishing application. The suite is a set of plugins that install into After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Resolve, Vegas and any OFX host, and they cover the whole path from correcting a shot to putting a deliberate look on it and finishing with the film characteristics that make it sit together.
Looks is the centrepiece and it works differently to a normal effect. Instead of a stack of sliders it presents a virtual camera path: subject, matte box, lens, camera, and post. You add tools to whichever stage they physically belong to, so a filter goes on the matte box, a bleach bypass goes in post, and the order is enforced by the metaphor of a real camera rather than by you remembering. It ships with several hundred presets that are actual starting points rather than one click novelty settings.
Colorista handles the correction side with primary and secondary wheels, curves, keyers for isolating a colour range, and masks with tracking. It is intended for the pass you do before you put a look on, and it is precise enough that a lot of work never needs to leave it. Denoiser handles high ISO material, Mojo produces the warm and teal separation look quickly, Cosmo does skin retouching that keeps texture rather than smearing it, and Film handles grain and stock emulation.
Everything is GPU accelerated and everything renders at floating point precision, so stacking several modules does not accumulate banding. Presets are shared across hosts, so a look built in After Effects opens in Premiere. The install is a single package that registers into every host it finds on the machine, and it can be pointed at hosts added later.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.
| Processor | Intel or AMD, 64 bit, 6 cores or more recommended |
|---|---|
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for 4K grading |
| Graphics | 4 GB VRAM minimum, 8 GB recommended |
| Storage | 3 GB free |
| Host application | After Effects, Premiere, Resolve, Vegas or any OFX host |
Put Colorista before Looks in the chain. Correcting after a look is applied fights the look rather than fixing the shot.
Denoiser is the heaviest module by a wide margin. Render a denoised intermediate if the timeline stops playing.
