Chaos V-Ray for 3ds Max

Sapphire is the effects collection that a great many finished shots pass through without the audience ever noticing. It carries somewhere north of two hundred and fifty individual effects and a very large transition library, and the reason it has stayed in use for as long as it has is quality rather than quantity. The glows are optically modelled instead of blurred and screened. The lens flares are built from real element stacks with per element control. The film and grain emulations are measured from stock rather than approximated.
It installs as plugins into whatever hosts it finds. After Effects and Premiere Pro get the full set as effects and transitions in their own categories. Photoshop picks up the stills relevant filters. Any OFX host, which means Resolve, Vegas, Nuke, Flame, Fusion and Media Composer through the appropriate bridge, gets the OFX build. One install, one set of presets, and looks move between applications without being rebuilt.
The workflow features matter as much as the effects themselves. Every effect opens in the Sapphire Effect Browser, a full screen preview grid that renders your actual frame through hundreds of presets at once so you pick by looking rather than by guessing from a name. Presets are shared across hosts, and you can build your own libraries and hand them to someone else on the project.
Mocha planar tracking is built into the parameter panels, so anything that needs to follow a surface can be tracked without leaving the effect. Beyond the decorative side there is a serious utility group: the S_Blur and S_Warp families, edge aware sharpening, deband, denoise, chroma keying, matte cleanup, rack focus, and a set of relight and depth tools that do useful work on footage that arrived flatter than it should have.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

Install the host applications first. Sapphire only registers into hosts that already exist on the system.
If an OFX host does not see the plugins, point its plugin path at the shared OFX folder manually.
