Adobe Premiere Pro 2026
The timeline that most of the industry cuts on, with the text based editing pass, native multiformat handling and the whole audio workflow intact.
Screen, game and device recording with hardware encoding, so long captures stay smooth and the output file stays a sensible size instead of filling the drive.
Bandicam is a recorder built around a simple observation: most screen capture tools either drop frames or produce files nobody can move around. It leans on the hardware encoder in the graphics card, which keeps the processor free during the capture and produces a compressed file straight out rather than a raw dump that needs a separate conversion pass afterwards.
There are three capture modes and they are genuinely different. Screen mode records a rectangle you draw or a chosen window, follows the mouse if you want, and is the one for software demonstrations. Game mode hooks the graphics API directly and records what the game renders rather than what the desktop composites, which is why the result is smooth even at high frame rates. Device mode records an external input such as a capture card or a webcam, either full frame or as an overlay on one of the other modes.
The recording side has the controls that matter for long sessions. Frame rate and quality set independently, encoder choice across the hardware and software paths, separate audio tracks for system sound and microphone so they can be balanced afterwards instead of being baked together, scheduled recording that starts and stops on its own, and automatic file splitting at a size or duration so a three hour capture is not one enormous file.
Around the capture sit the small things that make it usable. Real time drawing on the screen while recording, webcam overlay with chroma key, mouse click effects and cursor highlighting, keystroke display, a countdown before recording starts, and image capture with burst mode and automatic naming. Output is standard, so the files drop straight into any timeline without conversion.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.
| Processor | Intel or AMD dual core, quad core recommended for game capture |
|---|---|
| Memory | 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended |
| Graphics | Any card with a hardware encoder for the accelerated path |
| Storage | Fast drive with plenty of room. Recordings grow quickly. |
| Display | 1024 by 768 or higher |
Record to a different physical drive than the one the game or application is running from. It removes most dropped frame problems on its own.
Set the file split limit before a long session. Recovering a single interrupted file of enormous size is far harder than recovering one segment.
