This is the client from the people who wrote the protocol, and it shares an engine with the other well known client from the same company. It is very small, it uses almost no memory for what it does, and it handles a large number of simultaneous transfers without becoming unresponsive, which is the practical measure of a transfer client.
The transfer engine covers everything the protocol supports. Distributed hash table and peer exchange so transfers work without a tracker, magnet links, protocol encryption for networks that shape this traffic, sequential downloading, selective file downloading inside a multi file transfer with per file priority, and bandwidth scheduling by time of day so a large queue runs overnight and gets out of the way in the morning.
Queue management is proper rather than a list. Global and per transfer limits on rate and connection count, queue position with active transfer caps, seeding goals by ratio or by time after which a transfer stops automatically, labels and folders for organising a large list, and automatic loading of files dropped into a watched directory with the output routed by label. Remote control through the web interface means the machine doing the transferring does not have to be the one you are sitting at.
The pro tier adds the parts that sit around the transfers. A built in player so a completed file plays without leaving the application, format conversion to common device targets, and an interface with the advertising panels removed. There is also the file preview while a transfer is still running, which works on sequentially ordered media, and the automatic scan of completed files.
Read the whole list before you start. Most of the reports that come into the desk about this title turn out to be a step taken out of order.

Set the upload limit to around eighty percent of your actual upstream. Saturating the upstream collapses the downstream on most connections.
Raise the disk cache if you are running many transfers to a mechanical drive. The default assumes a much lighter load.
