Any Video Downloader Pro is built for one job and does it without ceremony. Paste a link, it reads what is available at that address, shows you the quality and format options with their file sizes, and you pick one. It uses several connections per file the way a download accelerator does, which on a throttled server is the difference between watching a progress bar and getting on with something else.
It handles more than a single item at a time. A whole playlist or a channel's listing can be queued in one action, with a filter for how many items back to take and a naming template applied across the set. The batch panel takes a pasted block of links or a text file of them, and the queue runs with a configurable number of simultaneous transfers so a slow line does not get saturated.
Format handling is built in rather than requiring a second application afterwards. You can take the original stream untouched, take the audio only as MP3, AAC or FLAC at a chosen bitrate, or convert on completion to a device preset. Subtitle tracks are captured where they exist and can be saved beside the file or burned into it, and metadata including title, uploader, duration and description is written into the file tags.
Around that sits a proper manager. A clipboard watcher that offers to grab a link the moment it is copied, a browser extension for one click capture from the page, a scheduler for running the queue at a chosen hour, bandwidth limiting, resume after interruption, proxy support, private mode links handled with your own browser session, and a built in player for checking a file without leaving the application.

Keep the automatic updater off but expect extraction to need a newer build occasionally when a host changes how it serves media.
Set a simultaneous transfer limit. Running twenty at once on a domestic line makes every one of them slower.
